 How to Play Rummy

You can play online rummy at rummyroyal.com

Rummy is a strategy card game that has been played socially since the beginning of the 19th century.
Rummy Online can be played by as little as 2 and as many as 6 players and uses a standard 52 card deck.
The object of Rummy is simple; to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.

Rummy Online is a simple game to learn and play.
First, the dealer deals out 10 cards to each player (if playing with 2 players), 7 cards to each player (if playing with 3-4 players), or 6 cards to each player (if playing with 5 or 6 players).
After all players have received their cards, the dealer turns up the top card in the pile and places it on the table beside the deck.
The place where this card is will be known as the discard pile.
The remaining cards in the deck are used as a stock pile for drawing more cards as the game progresses.

Once dealing has been completed, the player to the left of the dealer draws one card from either the deck or the discard pile.
They then have the option to play cards that are either a run or a set, or they can add cards onto other runs or sets played by other players.
A set is 3 or 4 of the same card rank.
For example, if a player is holding the Queen of Spades, the Queen of Diamonds, and the Queen of Hearts, this is considered a set and they can lay these 3 cards down in front of them.
A run is 3 or more cards of the same suit that are consecutive in rank.
For example, the 4, 5, and 6 of Spaces. Do note that you may only play 1 run or set per turn however, you do not need to play a run or set if you do not want to. After you have finished, you must end your turn by discarding a card face up onto the discard pile.
If the rummy games online goes on long enough to use the entire stockpile, turn over the discard pile and use it as the stockpile, but ensure that you do not shuffle it.

Once a player is able to get rid of all their cards, all the remaining players with cards must add up the point values of these remaining cards and the points are awarded to the player that got rid of all their cards.
The cards are assigned the following point values; Kings, Queens, Jacks and Tens are worth 10 points, Aces are worth 1 point, and all remaining cards are worth their face value (for example, a 2 if worth 2 points, a 5 is worth 5 points, etc).
A game continues until a player amasses a specific number of points which is determined before the game starts.
Typical online rummy games will be played to 100 points.

While this version is the standard version of Online Rummy, there are a lot of different variations of the game including some modifications to the rules.
A few of these common rule variations are the allowing of multiple runs or sets to be played, a player having to discard their last remaining card in order to win, shuffling of the discard pile when the stockpile runs out, and aces being played as both high or low.
Along with these different rule variations, there are also different game variations of Rummy.
Some of these include Gin Rummy, Canasta, and Kaluki and you can play for fun or for real money at Rummy Royal.
